John Christopher Depp II
June 9, 1963 - Born John Christopher Depp II (Johnny Depp) in Kentucky, Owensboro in the family of Betty Sue, waitress, and John Christopher Depp, community services engineer. He is the youngest of four children.
1970 – Johnny’s family moves to Florida.
1979 – His parents divorce. Johnny drops out of school and leaves home. He starts playing in the rock-band "The Kids".
1982-1984 – Johnny and "The Kids" move to Los-Angeles. Johnny marries Lori Allison – the sister of one of the band musicians (whom he has a soon divorce).
1984 – Johnny meets Nicolas Cage, who gets him involved in acting. Johnny appears in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" horror movie and gets his first actor experience.
1985 – Johnny Depp shoots in the "Private resort" comedy and "Slow Burn" TV Series. He attends the acting technique lessons at "The Loft Studios".
1986 – Depp shoots in the Oliver Stone’s "Platoon" movie.
1987 – Depp starts a shooting in "21 Jump Street" TV Series. "The Kids" band break-up.
1990 – Johnny Depp shoots in the John Water’s movie "Cry-baby" and ends up his contract in "21 Jump Street".
Depp gets the acquaintance with Tim Burton and starring in "Edward Scissorhands". He gets first Golden Globe Awards nomination in "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical" category.
1991 – Johnny appears in cameo in "Freddy’s Dead. The Last nightmare". He starts the shooting in Emir Kusturica’s "Arisona Dream". He appears in the Tom Petty’s "Into The Great Wide Open" video.
1992 – Depp stars in "Benny & Joon". Johnny gets the second Golden Globe Awards nomination in the "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical" category for this role and MTV Movie Awards nomination in "Best Comedic Performance" category and "Best On-Screen Duo" category with Mary Stuart Masterson.
Johnny appears in the "Lemonheads" "It's a Shame About Ray" music video.
1993 – The shooting of "Arizona Dream" ends up, film releases.
Depp shoots in Lasse Hallstrom’s "What’s Eating Gilbert Grape".
Depp has re-joining with Tim Burton and starring in the "Ed Wood" movie. He gets one more Golden Globe Awards nomination in "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical" category. His "Ed Wood" co-star Martin Landau gets Oscar award in "Best Actor in a Supporting Role" category.
Johnny buys the "Viper Room" club with Chuck Weiss.
1994 – Johnny shoots in "Don Juan DeMarco" with Marlon Brando.
Johnny takes part in "The United States of Poetry" program for PBS.
1995 – Depp stars in "Nick of Time" and Jim Jarmush’s "Dead Man".
He starts the shooting in the "Divine Rapture" movie but its end in two weeks because of financing lack.
1996 – Johnny gets London Critics Circle Film Awards as the Actor of the Year for his performance in "Ed Wood" and "Don Juan DeMarco".
He records the guitar part for "Oasis" band. The song named "Fade In/Out" from the "Be Here Now" album. He shoots also in the "Cannes Man" movie.
Depp has a debut as a director – he makes "The Brave" and plays the main part in it. The movie was nominated for the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.
1997 – Johnny shoots in the "Donnie Brasco" movie with Al Pachino.
1998 – Depp shoots in the "LA Without a Мap" movie. Johnny appears in a small part, he plays himself; he is not listed in credits.
He shoots in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "The Astronaut’s Wife" and "The Ninth Gate".
During the shooting in "The Ninth Gate" in Paris Johnny meets Vanessa Paradis.
1999 – Johnny has a third cooperation with Tim Burton – the shooting in the "Sleepy Hollow" movie. Johnny gets the nomination at the "Golden Satellite Awards" for the "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical" for his performance in this movie. He also gets the nomination of Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for "Saturn Award" in the same nomination.
May 27, 1999 - Daughter Lily-Rose Melody Depp is born with Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny films in "The Source" documentary that telling of the history of beatniks, starting from the meeting of Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg in 1944 at Columbia University and ending with the death of Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs in 1997.
In this film Johnny reads diaries and verses of Jack Kerouac. Later he appears in "The Vicar of Dibley" Series ("Red Nose" episode). Also this year Johnny gets the Honorary Cesar Award of the French Film Academy for his works.
2000 – Johnny shoots in "Before Night Falls",
"Chocolat", "The Man Who Cried" movies.
Johnny appears in the last episode of "The Fast Show" comedy series of the English BBC channel.
2001 – Depp films the "Blow", "Once Upon a Time in Mexico"
, "From Hell".
For the performance in "From Hell" movie Johnny gets the nomination of Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for "Saturn Award" for the "Best Performance by an Actor".
Is the beginning of "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" filming, which soon was stopped. The story of making "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" is shown in the "Lost in La Mancha" documentary film.
This year Johnny also directs Vanessa Paradis "Pourtant" and "Que fait la vie?" music videos.
2002 – Depp films "Finding Neverland" about "Peter Pen" author.
April 9, 2002 - the second child John (Jack) Christopher Depp III is born in the family of Johnny and Vanessa.
October 2002 – April 2003 – Johnny works on the set "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl".
June 2003 – "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" releases.
Johnny’s performance in this movie won the unbelievable recognition of audience, critics and colleagues; Johnny wins the professional SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Award for "Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role"; he gets also the same nominations for Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe, Golden Satellite, Saturn and BCFA (Broadcast Film Critics Association) Awards.
August 2003 – "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" releases. For the performance in this movie Johnny gets the nomination for the Golden Satellite Award in the category "Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, Comedy or Musical".
